moa pyromusical competition

I love fireworks. They are so amazing and I always find myself awestruck after watching them.

Here are some pictures from the 4th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition yesterday. South Korea and United Kingdom were the ones to present. Sorry for some intrusions like heads and lamps... we were seated at the VIP section but the most ideal seats (behind the judges) belong to those who bought VIP tickets with dinner.

I'm sometimes asked how to take photos of fireworks. First of all, I personally think fireworks are best taken with long exposures and long exposures require NO camera movement at all. For that to happen, you'll need a tripod. It's bulky and heavy but it is worth it. I also put the camera on manual setting (not fireworks) as I like controlling how the pictures come out. But of course, it's up to you and the shooting mode you are comfortable with.

The competition is still running every Saturday until March 23 at Mall of Asia. If you're out of things to do, or bored, or lonely, or just wanting to go somewhere, drop by! I'm pretty sure you'll feel hyped up after :)
